Ebay Where to Select Second Chance Offer From More Actions and Then Continue

If you're not able to complete the sale with the winning bidder or if you have duplicate items for sale, you can send a Second Chance Offer to anyone who bid on your listing. You won't be able to send an offer to the winning bidder. The number of offers you can send depends on the quantity of duplicate items you selected to offer. For example, if you have 4 duplicate items, you can send offers to up to 4 bidders.

When you send a Second Chance Offer, the bidders you've sent the offer receive a message asking if they'd like to buy the item at a Buy It Now price equal to their last bid amount. It's up to the buyer to decide whether to accept the offer.

When to use a Second Chance Offer

In general, you can make a Second Chance Offer if your listing meets these criteria:

  • The listing is in auction-style format.

  • At least one of your non-winning bidders accepts Second Chance Offers.

  • Any of these situations apply:

    • You only have one item to sell and the reserve price (if applicable) was not met.

    • You only have one item to sell and the winning bidder did not pay. (You must cancel the original transaction before starting the Second Chance Offer process.)

    • You have additional duplicate items to sell. (You must cancel all transactions that you will not be able to honor before starting the Second Chance Offer process.)

How it works

When you send a Second Chance Offer, the bidders you've sent the offer to will receive a message asking if they'd like to buy the item at a Buy It Now price equal to their last bid amount. It's up to the buyer to decide whether to accept the offer.

For example, if the bidder's last shown bid was $75.31, your offer will contain a Buy It Now price of $75.31.

In a few eBay Motors and Business & Industrial categories, you can specify the offer price as long as it is less than or equal to the item's reserve price. See the list of categories.

Sending an offer

To send a Second Chance Offer:

  1. Go to My eBay. You may be asked to sign in.

  2. Click the Sold or Unsold link.

  3. Find the item.

  4. From the Actions drop-down menu next to the item, select Second Chance Offer.

  5. Click the Continue button.

  6. Select the quantity of items you have to sell, the duration of the offer, and the bidders you want to send offers to.

  7. Click the Continue button.

The number of offers you can send depends on the quantity of duplicate items you selected to offer. For example, if you have 4 duplicate items, you can send offers to up to 4 bidders.

You'll receive a copy of the offer email that's sent to bidders.

Note: Buyers can choose not to receive Second Chance Offers by changing their notification preferences.

Cancelling an offer

To cancel a Second Chance Offer, enter the item number for the offer you want to cancel (not the original item number) on the End My Listing Early form. Cancelling is recommended if you want to send an offer to another non-winning bidder without waiting for the first offer to expire.

60 days after the listing ends

How long does the bidder have to respond?

You select the offer's duration, choosing from 1, 3, 5, or 7 days. If the bidder doesn't respond within that time period, the offer expires.

You won't be able to make another offer to the same bidder, so be sure to give your bidder time to respond.

What does it cost to make a Second Chance Offer?

Making an offer is free. If the offer is accepted, you pay the final value fee.

Can I send offers to more than one bidder?

The number of offers you can send depends on the quantity of duplicate items you selected to offer. For example, if you have 4 duplicate items, you can send offers to up to 4 bidders. However, you can't send more than one Second Chance Offer to the same bidder.

If you have duplicate items, you can select the quantity you have available first and send an offer for each item you have to sell. You can't send more offers than the number of items you have available.
